October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so on October 1, I participated in the Walk for Life in Columbia. The husband and other friends ran, but this girl doesn't run. I walked along with my pregnant friend Andrea (who doesn't even look pregnant yet and is 4 months along) and another sweet friend Stephanie who has 3 of the cutest children I've ever seen.
Breast Cancer is:
1. The most common cancer in women, no matter your race or ethnicity (in the US)
2. In 2007: 202,964 women in the US were diagnosed with breast cancer (source)
Make sure that you are doing monthly self exams as well as visiting your doctor yearly. Let them know your family history of breast cancer so that they will know when to start mammograms.
