Out of Office

I'll be taking a bloggy break until after the new year. We'll be quite the busy couple over the next 2 weeks.

Celebrating this

Then heading here

To watch these two teams play in bowl games in Orlando and Miami

And of course no trip to Florida is complete without a stop off here

Merry Christmas

"For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace."

My Good Egg

I have to say that I have a good egg. My sweet husband may not put his dishes in the sink or close cabinets and drawers once he gets what he wants out of them, but he is a sweet man. He came home last night with a couple more Christmas gifts for me and wanted to go ahead and give me one of them which was this
Okay so there is an explanation needed. We're headed to Florida after New Year's for several fun things. Our main trip is to Orlando to see my Gamecocks play Nebraska in the Capital One Bowl. We are also going to visit Harry Potter Land and MGM as we were just in Orlando a year ago and went to some of the other parks then. My dad was able to score two Orange Bowl tickets for the husband and I to see the husband's team, Clemson Tigers, take on the West Virginia Mountaineers in Miami. I had joked a couple of weeks ago about wearing WVU gear to the game which wasn't well received at the time. Last night though, my husband brought home this shirt for me to wear to the game. A good egg indeed.

Have y'all seen this? I saw it on Perez first and then found out I could download the song from iTunes. Love.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

I love Christmas time! Our home (well the downstairs at least) is festively decorated to welcome anyone who comes in with Christmas cheer.

The stockings are hung by the chimney with care

Our Christmas tree is merry & bright

The reason for the season is out for all to see in the living room

Our table is ready to entertain guests

And even little Christmas Raleigh is waiting to greet people in the downstairs bathroom

Sssssss

The husband and I have joked about our pet snake"Sssss"that lives in our backyard since we moved in. Our friends came over to see our new home the day we moved in and brought their dog who promptly went outside and ran around the backyard. We noticed something moving on the fence and everyone quickly realized that it was a SNAKE. (We have protected wetlands behind our home)

Well, tonight I decided to let Raleigh (precious pug) outside while we were waiting on his daddy to come home and I looked down to see that Sssss had decided to come visit us a little closer. The dang snake was INSIDE our screened in porch. The husband sometimes leaves the screen door cracked when he lets Raleigh out. I sent him a picture and reminded him of yet another reason why we close the screen door. I won't be returning to our backyard tonight.

Gamecocks vs. Tigers (the Clemson kind)

Can y'all believe that the regular season for college football is OVER? I anticipate its arrival at the end of the summer and dread its ending at the end of the year. Sadly, my Gamecocks will not be in the SEC Championship this year thanks to those damn Georgia Bulldogs (who we beat by the way, but whatevs) I wish the Dawgs all the luck in the world and all I have to say is GEAUX TIGERS! (the LSU kind)

This past weekend was rivalry weekend for college football and it was not different here in South Carolina and in my household. On Saturday, we packed up the car and headed down to Williams-Brice to see my Gamecocks take on my husband's Clemson Tigers. I continuously try to convince him that he should go ahead and switch to being a Carolina fan since our children will obviously be Carolina fans but he hasn't made the switch quite yet. It was an AMAZING game where the Gamecocks showed those Tigers what it's like to play SEC teams. We beat the Tigers 34-13 and it marked the 3rd year in a row we had won the Battle of the Palmetto State. It also marked the 2nd time that the Gamecocks had a 10 win season. Now, we'll wait to see where my Gamecocks are headed for bowl season. I'm crossing my fingers for Florida because I would surely love an after-Christmas DisneyWorld trip.

I'm linking up with the Belles of Saturday to bring y'all my tailgating pictures from Saturday. Go Cocks!

Monday Pinspiration

Hopefully Raleigh-Pug behaves himself this Thanksgiving. Last year his behavior was questionable at best...

FCB

My friend Kristin is confused. She thinks that Robert Pattinson is her fake celebrity boyfriend, but in actuality he's mine. Obviously I am more dedicated to him as I was in the movie theater at midnight Thursday (but had to get there at 11:00pm), sat through a fire alarm going off (where not a SINGLE person in the theater got up to move; thankfully it was only burnt popcorn) and was up until 2:30 in the morning watching my FCB in his latest movie. I hope this won't hurt Rob's feelings, but he's not my only FCB. There are many men that have the privilege of being given that prestigious title. Who are your FCB's?

Eff, Marry, Kill

I have been anxiously awaiting the return of this game.
<span class=

After scouring my brain for what three men I will be deciding from, I had a light bulb go off. OF COURSE! I'll do the 3 dads from Three Men & A Baby (and Three Men & A Little Lady) What girl my age doesn't LOVE these movies?? So here are my choices for my link up with The Vintage Apple

Eff: Jack Holden (Ted Danson)
Sure, he's a little irritating, but just for one night. And he's funny. Obviously many forms of birth control would be used as we know he is proficient at making babies.

Marry: Peter Mitchell (Tom Selleck)
He's caring, attractive, has a good job. Sure, there's that thick creepy mustache, but I think I could get over it. Or maybe he would shave it for me?

Kill: Michael Kellam (Steve Guttenberg)
Yeah, so he can draw. That's awesome. Maybe I'd get him to draw me a picture before I said bye bye.

15 Years

This past Saturday, my chapter of Kappa Delta celebrated their 15th Year. (Today is the actually anniversary date, 11/16) Zeta Sigma also is the chapter which I volunteer for as an advisor. It was wonderful to see some women that I was initiated with as well as some other ladies that were members before I was. Let's take a look back at my days in Zeta Sigma.

And here are a couple of shots from this weekend's anniversary luncheon. One with 2 of my pledge sisters and another with my cousin who I was able to initiate the year after I graduated college into my initiating chapter. Such a special family bond to share.
