Happy Birthday Cousins!

Two of my favorite people were born on today and they just happen to both be related to me. Today is my cousin Kim's 29th birthday and my cousin Chelsea's 23rd birthday. Kim is my mom's brother's child and Chelsea is my dad's sister's child.

I used to love going during the summer to visit Kim for weeks at a time in Charleston and it would make me cry when it was time to go because I didn't want to leave. I was in her wedding in 2007 and she unfortunately lost her husband in 2008 only a month shy of their first wedding anniversary. I'm amazed at her ability to still love God through her trials and come out the other end a wonderful woman who continued school and has now found someone else to love. She was my matron of honor in 2008 and I wouldn't have imagined anyone else standing up there with me as I started my life with my husband.

My sweet cousin Chelsea is a couple of years younger than me but we've always been close. She graduated from my alma mater last spring. Her first year there she went through rush and chose to be a Kappa Delta. It was such an honor to be able to initiate her into my chapter of Kappa Delta. We shared not only the bond of being cousins but also the bond of being sisters in our KD. She was also in my wedding in 2008 and I can't wait to see who God puts in her life to be her husband because I know it will be someone amazing.
Happy Birthday Kim & Chelsea! I love you both more than words can say!

Happy Birthday Grandmother!

My grandmother is such a lovely lady and I am constantly amazed by her energy level. She's a great example of a wife, mother and Godly woman who gives more than she receives. Happy Birthday Grandmother, I love you!

My husband hates....

Roller Coasters

Seriously, he really hates them. We finally got him to go on the Aerosmith Rock & Roll Roller Coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios. They take your picture on the ride. When we got off we looked at the picture and burst out laughing which obviously meant we needed to purchase it. Now to find the perfect place in our home to place this 8x10 beauty displaying my husband's terror. I'm thinking we should start a collection...

Pugs & Ornaments

I've realized that a lot of bloggers are also pug owners. For those of you who aren't, they're the most amazing pets that you can own. Pugs love snacks, being with people and belly rubs. One thing our pug Raleigh doesn't like? Making paw print ornaments. Unfortunately for Raleigh, until we have kids he'll just have to be the one whose paw (hand) we use to make the ornament. After several very entertaining tries (made more so by the fact that I had 3 glasses of wine at dinner) we were able to get a paw print on the ornament.

Bestie Day

Kristin, Caroline and I celebrated Bestie Day by going to see the Lights at the Zoo and dinner afterwards. I love going to see the lights and we were able to roast some marshmallows while we were there. We decided against a picture on Santa's lap as Santa looked a little older and frailer than years past. I wouldn't want to hurt him with what I'm sure are an extra 5-10 pounds I've gained over this holiday season. Yuck.

Note: It's a sad sad day when you realize that 3 of you are too big for the photo booth. #picturefail

Lilly Love

Did y'all buy any goodies from the Lilly sale a couple of days ago? I was on vacation but managed to grab 2 things from my cell phone (that had 10% battery life left) while we were sitting at the Orange Bowl. I couldn't pass up getting 2 Lilly items for less than $100!

First, I purchased the Eloise blouse. I got the skirt pictured for my birthday and LOVE it. I just wasn't down for spending $140 on a white button up shirt. But for $34??? Lilly had me sold.
The second thing I purchased was the Sadie dress. I ended up having to get it from a via site since they were sold out of my size on the Lilly site. I ended up paying $5 more for it on the other site but still at $44.50 it was a steal. I can't wait to wear it in the spring!
There were more things I wanted but unfortunately none in my size. I love my steals from Lilly!

She's baaaaaaaccccckkkkkkk

I feel like I've been so out of the loop for most of December (and the beginning of January for that matter) I just tonight started putting away our Christmas decor. Slack. I hope to have it done by Monday but I'm not promising anything. I promise to update with what went on in the month of December and January over the next couple of weeks BUT for today I'm going to leave you with some wonderful spring things that I'm going to need in my life. Happy 2012!
