NFL Draft

Two of my Gamecocks were drafted last night in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft

Stephon Gilmore went 10th to the Buffalo Bills

Melvin Ingram went 18th to the San Diego Chargers

Now we're just waiting on Round 2 to start to see where Alshon Jeffrey ends up. I'm so happy for these amazing athletes and know that they will continue their success in the NFL. Go Gamecocks!

New Additions

I've been shopping too much lately. Like way too much. But on the plus side, I do have some pretty new things to show for it AND I even bought some new things for the hubs. Here's some of the newest members of my closet family:

Confessional Friday

1. I shop too much. Like way too much. Thank God for things not fitting or me not liking them, otherwise my closet would over take our entire house. My favorites of late : Kate Spade & Anthropologie

2. I think I'm a pretty good friend. I've learned more recently the importance of expecting the same in return.

3. I married a pretty awesome guy. One who doesn't mind that I'm not exactly the portrait of a domestic goddess. Oh and he agrees to see ridiculous movies that he has no desire to see with me, like Cabin in the Woods this weekend.

4. I watch absolute trash on TV. Toddlers & Tiaras, Real Housewives of Anywhere, Gossip Girl, anything on ABC family (okay that may not be trash, but it's meant for girl's 10 years younger than I)

5. My husband let me know who my best friend was the other week. I told her about the ridiculous conversations that we have at home. He's right though, she's the best and I'm sad we weren't friends sooner.

6. I feel like all I've been doing is sitting around and waiting. It's a weird feeling and I've been trying to occupy my time with fun things. Like seeing this sweet little guy in the hospital after his surgery. FYI MUSC Children's Hospital gives you Wendy's Frosty's. Amazing.

7. I'm so happy for a weekend of no call. I hate my husband's pager. And love being able to go to the farmer's market on Saturday morning for crepes.

8. I need to return to the gym. It's been a week. And before that it had been a week. I can't seem to motivate myself to exercise. I can however motivate myself to make funfetti cupcakes and eat them.

9. I called Anthropologie customer service today to locate these two tops for me. They have the best customer service of any company in my opinion. Refer to confession 1, I do realize I love shopping.

10. I'm pretty sure I got Bieber Fever last night after watching this clip. My husband told me to look up his height. He's 5'3"!!! That's too short for this 5' 6.5" girl. Bieber Fever gone.

Thursday, April 19, 2012's what's for dinner

What ever did we do before pinterest and all of the millions of recipes it gives us?

Last night was a pinterest night for dinner (and let's be honest, most of the time I cook it's via pinterest) I think my husband may have gone into shock as I cooked a full meal twice this week.

First up, I fixed a Strawberry Fields Salad courtesy of Southern Living

I can't give my personal opinion on this because I wasn't hungry enough to eat the salad but the husband loved it. I'm going to give it a try for lunch today.

Our main course was beef pepper steak. I get picked on because of my love of a crock pot. It's just so dang easy to throw things into a pot and let them cook while you do whatever. The beef pepper steak did not disappoint.

My husband was feeling extra helpful while I was preparing things in the kitchen and put together his Easter bunny pug puzzle :-) He's such a kid.

Why isn't this purple?

There are a couple comics that I just find absolutely hilarious: Chelsea Handler, Ross Matthews, Dane Cook, etc. Now we can add Aziz Ansari to that list. He's from my home town and I bought his comedy show today from his website, Dangerously Delicious (um hello it's only $5) and watched it laughing out loud the entire time. He can be a little inappropriate so this would not be something to watch with the volume turned all the way up at work.

Who is your doppleganger?

Oh my celebrity doppleganger...

I'm linking up with Raven to share my celeb dopplegangers.

There are a couple that I've been told I look like that I'll share before I share what the generator thought were my celebrity lookalikes.

Doppleganger #1

Charlotte from Sex & The City. I can thank the husband for this one. He thinks I look a lot like Mrs. York-Goldenblatt. And that's why I love him.

Doppleganger #2
Carla Gugino. You may remember her as the daughter from Son In Law or more recently as Amanda Daniels from Entourage. Once again, I don't really agree with this one. I would however gladly accept having breasts like hers.

Doppleganger #3
Miss Britney Spears. Seriously. In high school I was told I looked like her all the time. Pre-melt down.

So, on to what the generator thought were my celebrity look-alikes

Um say what? I do love my Duff stuff. None of my matches are over 70%, does that mean I'm unique. Ha. I think I should be happy that I just didn't get any men look a likes. Obviously I need to try one more picture and see if I get the same results from another website.

Um yes, please. I in no way think I resemble these people but I'll take it. And hey, maybe the hubs is right after all. No more, I should probably quit while I'm ahead.
